Service will start as needed. The normal cutting season usually starts in mid to late March to early April. The cutting season usually ends by late October and into mid or late November. We will service your lawn as needed, until the turf has gone dormant.
99% of the instant lawn service quotes provided on the Mow Dayton site are accurate. In those cases, the quoted price is the price you will be charged for lawn service. Mow Dayton’s online instant price tool uses different online databases to calculate your lot size. In some instances, these numbers from our online database sources are not accurate. When situations like this occur, we can typically provide the first service at the quoted rate. If we are unable to continue service at the quoted price due to the inaccurate data from the online databases, we will contact you to explain the error and provide you with an update quote.
All prices quoted are based on the size of the lot assuming average lawn terrain and circumstances. If we decide that the lawn is not considered average (steep hills, excessive trimming, unusual obstacles, overgrown, etc…) we will contact you to provide an updated price.
Lawn service includes mowing of front, back and side yard. Mowers are set between 3-3.5 inches depending on the season, weather, and condition of the turf. Special requests for height adjustments will be considered on a case by case basis. Grass is either mulched or side discharged from the mowers. We trim around beds, fences, trees, AC (Please protect them otherwise they may be damaged), and other areas of turf not accessible with mower. We also blow all grass clippings from all driveways, patios, decks, sidewalks, and walkways. If there is currently an edge on the hard surfaces (driveways, sidewalks) it will be maintained as needed. If there is not a clean edge against the hard surfaces we will trim any overgrown turf back. Please note this will not create a clean edge. If you have overgrowth on your hard surfaces, please contact our office to request a quote for edging.
If there is a lock on your gate, please make sure it is unlocked during your scheduled service day. If you prefer you can provide Mow Dayton with a key or the combination for your lock. Our crews are very careful about locking and/or closing gates, but we cannot guarantee that a pet will not escape from the yard as they enter or exit, especially since doing so requires extra time with the equipment. Therefore, please check your gate prior to letting your pets out to ensure they remain inside your yard and safe. For our crews and your pet’s safety, we prefer that your pets be inside while we provide service. Also, if the gate is locked/blocked/stuck, we will not return to mow the backyard but will instead, wait until your next scheduled service day to service this area. If the gate is locked/blocked/stuck we do not hold the responsibility of calling or knocking on the door to request access. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your cooperation in making your property accessible.
We calculate the square footage of your lot as determined by Zillow.com or your local county’s website (Montgomery, Greene, or Warren) before any improvements. In the event of missing data from the county website we will either utilize other online tools or software to measure the total square feet or will do a quote in person at the actual property. Rates quoted do not include sales tax. Sales tax will be added to your billed rate based on your municipalities tax rate.
We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. All accounts will be billed the day after service is provided. Credit card information is obtained at the time your account is originated, either online or via phone, and is securely kept on file as long as your account is active with us. We take data security seriously. The Mow Dayton website is secured with a web server certificate Transactions on the site are protected with up to 256-bit SSL encryption. All credit cards are kept on a secure server maintained by our credit card merchant and follows all guidelines set by PCI Security Council. You can rest assured knowing that your data is safe and PCI compliant.
In the event of a non-authorized card we will contact you via phone and email to inform you. If a new credit card is not on file by the next schedule service date your property will not be serviced. If after 2 weeks the card has not been updated there will be a $10 fee added to the outstanding balance. Accounts more than on month past due will be referred to collections and will incur all associated fees allowed under the law.
Mow Dayton operates Monday-Friday. You will be assigned a specific service day in accordance with our existing schedule. We reserve the right the change your mowing day at any time. If this becomes necessary, we will contact you to inform you of the change and the new day. As we continue to add new customers the crew’s arrival time may fluctuate, therefore, we cannot guarantee an exact time of day your lawn will be cut. Our crews start work at 8:00 AM and will cut until dark if needed.
In the event of rain we will still continue to mow to complete our service schedule. However, if we are unable to mow or cannot get caught up before nightfall, we will push the balance of the week’s schedule forward 1 day, utilizing Saturday (or even Sunday) to catch up for the week. You will not be notified if this occurs. If you are uncertain, please feel free to email or call us.
Turf is considered overgrown if it is taller than 6 inches. If your lawn is overgrown there may be additional charges for the first service. For new customers, when we arrive for the first service and deem the lawn is overgrown, we will contact you to give you an updated price before we service. If you are unsure if your lawn is overgrown, please contact us and our crews will look at your property to determine if it is considered overgrown.
If you have a special request for a schedule change and our schedule permits, we will do our best to accommodate your request. All requests must be made by calling, emailing, or using our online form no later than 4:00 PM the day before your scheduled service. We do not guarantee a schedule can be changed, but will do our best to accommodate.
Weekly customers are permitted to skip there regularly schedule lawn service 3 times per year. Bi-weekly customers are not granted any skips. If you would like to skip a service, please call, email, or use our online form no later than 4:00 PM the day before your schedule service.
There is no obligation by either party to begin or continue service. We do ask that you sign up for a minimum of 6 consecutive services to receive the weekly or bi-weekly rate. If you cancel before the 6 trip minimum you will be charged a 1 time $25.00 fee.
Once you have signed up for service we consider you a customer from season to season until you cancel. All cancellations must be made via phone, email, or online form no later than 4:00 PM the day before your next scheduled service.
While we try to be careful and not mow over items, we do not guarantee these items safety nor are we obligated to pick them up. We assume no responsibility or liability for items left in the lawn that are destroyed by our equipment. Please be sure to have your lawn clean of toys, hoses, animal droppings, etc before we come to service your lawn on your scheduled day.
If for any reason you are not satisfied with the with the work Mow Dayton has provided we want to make it right. If you are unsatisfied with your lawn service please contact us within 24 hours and we will send a crew back out to fix the job. If you are unsatisfied with any of our other servcies (landscaping) please contact us within 3 days of completed service and we will do everything we can to fix the issue. We want you to be happy with our service and if you are not, please let us know and we will make it right.
Mow Dayton offers additional service to current customers and new customers. You do not have to be a current customer with Mow Dayton sign up for our other services. Additional services include, but not limited to:
-Mulch bed cleanup, creation
-Sod replacement, seeding

We do offer ongoing maintenance plans for weeding and shrub/bush trimming.
